Inter Chassis Links (ICLs) harness unused ports to connect the switching backplane of one DC SAN Backbone with the switching backplane of a second DC SAN Backbone Director. This additional full duplex connection provides an additional 1 Tbit/sec of bandwidth and does not consume usable ports. ICL connections operate as hardware trunked ISLs.
