The HP 10GbE RMII Management Enablement Kit is a flexible cable with connectors used on select 10GbE server adapters to provide sideband management support over a 10GbE connection. This is sometimes called “in band” iLO sideband support. By allowing management packets to be transmitted and received on the Ethernet ports of the NIC, the MEK eliminates the need for separate, dedicated cables for management.
