HP StorageWorks SAN Virtualization Services Platform Thin Provisioning allows customers to create virtual disks with large apparent capacity that only use a much smaller amount of physical capacity. As data is written to these Thin Provisioned virtual disks, additional capacity is automatically allocated as necessary to store the data. A thin volume can grow up to its maximum created size, until available capacity within the domain is consumed, or until the licensed capacity is consumed.
